Services in Brighton MI
Adjustments
We use many different adjusting techniques in order to serve our diverse practice member population. Some techniques you will hear and feel the joints adjust, with others you will not hear the "popping" noise associated with the adjustment. We use hands on adjusting as well as instruments like the Activator and drop table techniques. We are trained to adjusting all ages from infants to seniors.
X-Ray Services
We provide digital x-ray services at our facility in order to provide the highest level of chiropractic care possible. X-rays are an extremely valuable tool in determining the alignment and health of your spine.
Rehabilitation Exercises
We use specific exercises and traction techniques to assist in reducing and stabilizing the previous spinal injuries (Vertebral Subluxations) that have healed into your spine due to physical, mental and chemical stresses of life.
Health Awareness Seminar
Interested in learning if Chiropractic is right for you? We have a Health Awareness Seminar twice a month (Tuesday at 6:30 pm). During the seminar Dr. Melissa will go through what chiropractic is, what it isn't, how the office runs, your responsibilities as a practice member and her responsibilities as a chiropractor. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore your health care options. To make a reservation please call (810) 588-6314 and please bring a guest.
3 Types of Care
At this office, we believe everyone deserves the right to experience the natural birthright of a long, happy and healthy life. When this inborn gift is interfered with - and sickness or injury result - we accept the responsibility of helping our practice members restore and maintain their natural health.
The various types of care are the result of more than 100 years of clinical application to millions of practice members from which specific patterns surface. They have many similar and distinct names, however, the most common are:
Initial Intensive Care is designed to help you with your current problem, give you relief and ensure maximum up-front healing. In doing so, Initial Intensive Care helps eliminate the latest layer of damage of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC) and Subluxation Degeneration. Visit frequency for the average adult in either phase one or two of Subluxation Degeneration is usually very frequent for a few months. The ederly practice member usually has more spinal Subluxation Degeneration damage requiring frequent initial visits for longer periods of time. Conversely, the younger practice member requires less time for Initial Intensive Care. Non-symptomatic newborns (the best age, incidentally, to begin Chiropractic Care) may require only a few visits to complete Initial Intensive Care. However, the symptomatic infant may require a few weeks to a few months of Initial Intensive Care, depending on the severity of the entrance complaint. Catastrophic diseases, at any age, may require a lifetime of Intensive Care.
Reconstructive Care is designed to begin improving your whole body health, not just relieve your entrance complaint. It is intended to help your body rebuild itself. Reconstructive Care begins when Initial Intensive Care is complete. Visit frequency is less than Initial Intensive Care usually, in time, lessening to once per week. The duration of Reconstructive Care is also dependent on the severity of Subluxation Degeneration damage to your spine and body.
Infants usually have no Subluxation Degeneration damage, so Reconstructive Care is not necessary. The infant immediately goes into Wellness Care after completing Initial Intensive Care. On the other hand, the older practice member with any phase of Subluxation Degeneration may require continuing Reconstructive Care. In this instance, damage to the spine and body is extensive and neither the spine nor the body is capable of complete rehabilitation or reconstruction. Reconstructive Care remains at once per week to help forestall the increasing damage of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC).
Many practice members compare their spine to their teeth. Misaligned teeth require constant realignment, for years, if your jaw is healthy. If it is diseased, the doctor will first attempt to heal the disease before attempting to straighten the teeth. Unlike your teeth, your spine cannot fully recover from the degenerative damage of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC) and Subluxation Degeneration. This process takes a lifetime of frequent visits to minimize the prospect of increased degeneration and ill health.
Wellness Care is designed to continue to increase your whole body health and create the greatest degree of Wellness throughout your lifetime. Because long-term Reconstructive Care and lifetime Wellness Care are both based on weekly check-ups, the difference between frequency and duration is not an issue.
The Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC) is often the single most important origin of many diseases, pains and infirmities, as well as the leading cause of the "Wellness Deficiency Syndrome". Fortunately, Chiropractors are specifically trained to locate, reduce and prevent the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). It makes sense to eliminate or reduce the tragic effects of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC) that can limit or devastate your life and the life of your family.
